The Last Respect

In the Caravaner’s Rest public house in the outskirts of Shidimbda you may meet an old adventurer and hunter named Ogudbo. He’s famous for having once defeated a tibilga with his bare hands.

He will tell you the following story:

Why, yes, I am the man who punched a tibilga. I didn't kill it, I merely fended it off,
contrary to some rumors. That was enough to make me a celebrity adventurer, though.
Well, except that was thirty years ago... soon I'll be too old for any adventures.
I'm fine with the prospect to switch to teaching young folks how to survive in the desert
instead of walking the desert myself.

Still, there's one thing I'd like to do before I hang my sword on the wall.
Back when my friend and I were young and foolish... and by young I mean young,
and by foolish I mean foolish... so, when we were young and foolish,
we decided to try looting the largest kwarg liar on the island.

I was lucky enough to get out of it and live to tell the tale. My friend wasn't.
One of the kwargs crushed his head with a large stone.

The irony is that he had an amulet with him that he found somewhere shortly before that.
That amulet was enchanted to make the wearer invisible.
If he was smart enough to either use the amulet or wear a helmet he would have lived.
Or if I was smart enough to remind him...

Anyway, people from that place complain that the number of kwargs has grown lately and those kwargs frequently come
to steal crops or even plunder cellars. I'll certainly teach them how to set up better traps,
but I was thinking that I could also use it as an excuse to venture inside and take a revenge
on those creatures that killed my friend back then.

Would you help me with that culling job? If we find my friend's amulet, you can keep it,
and there should be quite a bit of treasure apart from that as well.

If you agree, he will lead you to the cavern that houses that kwarg colony. From there it’s a standard dungeon crawl. Ogudbo is a competent fighter and has a bunch of healing potions with him, so you shouldn’t worry about him too much, although you should watch his back and be prepared to help him if he gets overwhelmed.

His friend amulet of hiding is indeed in the cave and it’s the best item with a chameleon enchantment in the game (80% for 60 seconds).

If you safely return together, your reputation with caravaners will rise by 10 points. However, if Ogudbo dies, you will lose 20 points of reputation with them instead.
